The Contents of The Oregon Curriculum

Kitzhaber, A. R., ed. The Oregon Curriculum. A Sequential Program in English (N.Y.: Holt, Rinehart & Winston, 1968.)

The fundamental problem with the Oregon Curriculum is that, like most grammar books, it focusses on individual constructions and uses very simple sentences as examples. It never even attempts to get students to the point where they can analyze the structure of their own sentences. (See "The KISS Difference.")
